Savile Row - Sheep on the Row.
The Campaign for Wool is partnering with some of the world's most prestigious tailors, menswear brands and cloth retailers promoting wool as the cloth of choice for menswear. Savile Row, the heart of tailoring and menswear in London will be hosting a unique event. With two sheep breeds grazing the length of Savile Row, the prestigious tailoring houses will be open to show the public how wool is used by the tailors.
With interest in menswear increasing at a faster pace than womenswear, 27% of British menswear shoppers are showing an interest in purchasing British brands and designers. Men prefer quality and brands more so than women so what better way to celebrate the contribution that wool makes to British menswear.
The world renowned street will be transformed into a green pasture, covered in turf and closed to traffic with Bowmont Merino and Exmoor sheep grazing along the Row and barns at either end of the Row celebrating the landscapes of New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and the UK. With Murdock London, the celebrated London barbers offering a 'Shearing Shed' offering grooming treatments, GQ magazine will also be on hand snapping the best dressed for a 'wool street style' reportage of the best dressed men in London.
A live model presentation featuring some of the best tailors in London and showcasing the versatility that wool offers will also be taking place through the day. Don't forget to get the date in the diary for this rather unique event an be part of Wool Week.
Savile Row - Sheep on the Row will be taking place on Monday 5th October, 10.00-18.00.
