Filling Pieces have been making some sublime shoes from their Amsterdam base for a number of years. Their recent past has seen them create a pony skin collaboration with LN-CC in 2008 to creating a collection that nodded its head to iconic footwear from other brands as recently as AW15. This season sees them head to Suriname, which is a former Dutch colony, for inspiration and inspired they were. The collection is titled 'Metamorphoses' and features over 250 styles of which the majority can be found in ‘Drop 1’.
Whether the heat of the jungle tours got to their heads or something else entirely happened - the trip looks have included waterfalls and abandoned ships, deserts and the jungle - this is the biggest collection to date. So big in fact that they will be releasing it in three drops that makes the whole ‘Drop 1’ thing make more sense.
The brand's 'Metamorphoses' go deeper than the changing South American landscape or the look of the shoes from pair to pair. The company logo and website have gone through some changes also, so it's a very definite new year new Filling Pieces.
