GROOMING By Belinda Morris
Hair rescue remedies..
If you’ve had a summer full of sun, sea and surfing… well, lucky old you; I don’t especially want to hear about it thanks. Perhaps, like me, you’ve had a summer of city heat and pollution, with a touch of wind and rain thrown in? Either way, the chances are that your hair (like your skin no doubt) will be feeling it by now – dry to the point of brittleness. And you will have been throwing product at it like crazy for the past three months, so the build-up on scalp as well as hair will be doing you no favours.
Time for a detox.
Rahua, which I have written about a few months back – wondrous stuff – has added to its haircare line (of natural, organic, rainforest-grown botanicals) with Hair Detox and Renewal Treatment Kit (£88 – www.panachecosmetics.com). It might sound tricky to use, but don’t be put off… it isn’t, it’s simple and quick. It also sounds expensive, but a) there are two treatments in the pack (less than you’d pay at a top salon for the same thing) and b) it works wonders.
You simply add half the bottle of rainforest-grown oil into one of the two jars of detoxifying cream base, give it a good stir (little stick provided) then apply it onto wet, or dry, hair and scalp. Massage it in for a about a minute, comb it through and then leave on for about half an hour to let it “push the toxins out” before washing and rinsing your hair as usual (Rahua’s own shampoo and conditioner would be the icing on the cake here…). Bingo – soft, shiny, healthy, stronger-looking (and -feeling) hair.
Should you need a little more help, Panache Cosmetics also carry Sachajuan, a haircare line launched by a Swedish hairdressing duo. They base the products on ‘Ocean Silk Technology’ which revolves around sea algae extracts to provide the healthy hair properties. Overnight Hair Repair (£35 – 100ml) works to strengthen and regenerate damaged and stressed hair, reducing frizz and adding shine… all while you sleep.
