LALIQUE L’Insoumis Ma Force By Belinda Morris
Two years ago Lalique launched L’Insoumis, dedicated to the artistic spirit of founder Rene Lalique. Now perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin has created a successor – L’Insoumis Ma Force, a fresher eau de toilette. "I wanted to reinvent L’Insoumis in this fresher, green, aromatic version with a modern and exciting woody foundation. I therefore created an essence bursting with invigorating freshness, contrasting with the masculinity of an electrifying woody amber accord" says Pellegrin.
Tester John seems to have picked up on this: “I found its light, almost 'delicate' scent makes it the ideal 'in between' fragrance'. Its initial summery and citrus notes reduce down to an almost vanilla like scent, which lingers for quite sometime. You know you are wearing it – and sometimes that might be all that matters..?
“When you need to make a good impression, you might select an 'I mean business' fragrance from your armoury, something that those close-up can't fail to notice. Possibly you wouldn’t bother if just nipping to the supermarket. But what about the times when something in-between is required? Something with enough of an aroma to make a man feel and smell good without overpowering the people they might be with? For me that is where this fragrance is perfect.”
Which spells things out pretty clearly. But if you need more detail: L’Inspoumis Ma Force opens with a burst of lemony and aromatic notes with a touch of cardamom. The heart blends lavender extract, violet leaf and rosemary balanced by green camphor and wood and amber provide a sensual dry-down. Oh, and it’s worth mentioning that the bottle, with its opalescent frosted glass and sculptural edges – as you’d expect from Lalique – is pretty chic.
