English contemporary menswear brand Percival have taken a step up in their latest look book and collection. Their stalwart pieces are present and the arresting visuals are informed from 1950s film noir. When black and white the shots look grainy and when in colour they look like they could be straight out of a Kodak moment. I think that this is one of my favourite look books this season; it really is very, very nice.
The collection also takes on these 1950s cues especially seen in the speckled grey and blue fabrics on shirts and on suits that cast one's mind back to the graininess of 35mm film. The new visual style is not the only bold move either; a yellow trouser and jacket combo are great and there are enough of the classic wearable styles that the brand is known for to assuage any one that freaks out when confronted with colour. The Percival logo knit possibly harks back to the Polo bear knits and there are two new styles for AW15; the double zip wool coat and button up shearling collar.
