GROOMING By Belinda Morris
Feeling the love
Valentine’s Day is a mere heartbeat away and I’m guessing that some of you out there will hope to get away with a half-decent card and perhaps a cup of tea in bed (and that’s you on the receiving end?). Well let this be the year that you put a little thought into it – although you’ll have to get your skates on…
I think I may have found just the thing: Valeur Absolue are not just about a pretty bottle and a pleasing scent (they come as standard), they happen to combine the please of wearing the fragrance with the beneficial effects of the natural active ingredients within. The idea is that the essential emotions of the woman wearing the scent will be enhanced – explain that to her and it’s got to be extra brownie points, surely.
The three distinctive fragrances in the collection are mood-related: Harmonie, Sensualité and Joie-Eclat and each contains Areaumat Perpetua™ a natural extract of the Immortelle flower, which apparently stimulates the release of beta-endorphins, known as ‘well-being’ molecules. And then, for extra and very pretty emphasis, each bottle contains a visible symbols of the specific aspects of each fragrance – a cluster of amethyst stones for harmony, pieces of mother of pearl for love and femininity and encapsulated diamond powder to signify sparkle.
And of course each fragrance will appeal to a different person. The floral, woody muskiness of Valeur Absolue Sensualité, was designed to reflect the curves of a woman they say; Harmonie is cocooning like cashmere and Joie-Eclat has a Champagne-like fizz and freshness. Well, you know here best… you choose.
